Who am I
Hi,
I’m Despoina a trauma-informed accessible yoga teacher, holistic wellness practitioner, single mom, and primary school teacher who truly understands the weight you're carrying. Because I've walked this path myself — from chaos to calm, from pain to peace.
.

My journey
Years ago, I was a professional dancer living under constant pressure — battling stress, sleepless nights, and a quiet anger I couldn't name. My life looked beautiful on the outside, but inside, I was struggling.
Everything changed when my headmistress, a woman in her 50s, gently invited me to join her yoga class. At first, I didn't get it. It felt too slow, too quiet. But something inside me softened... and I kept going back.
Then life threw me a curveball: I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. That's when yoga became my lifeline.
Some years later perimenopause knocked the door, just when i had too much to deal with in my life . My mat turned into my sanctuary — where I could breathe, let go, and find relief physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
That's why i do what i do.
How i support you
I understand the unique challenges of being a high-achieving woman in midlife because I've lived them. You're not just dealing with physical changes — you're navigating a complete life transition while everyone depends on you.
That's why my approach goes beyond typical yoga classes. I focus on:
-
Healing trauma stored in the body from years of stress and pressure
-
Gentle movement that honors your body's current needs
-
Nervous system regulation to help you feel calm and relaxed
-
Micro-practices that fit into your real life
-
Holistic welness that addresses mind, body, and spirit
My sessions aren't just about stretching — they're about releasing what you've been carrying in your body for years- pain, exhaustion, anger, stress- and reconnecting with your authentic self.

What i believe
At the heart of everything I teach is ahimsa — "do no harm." I believe in practicing with kindness, honoring your pace, and never forcing your body. This isn't about performance. It's about coming home to yourself.
My clients often tell me they feel lighter, more peaceful, and more in control after our sessions. But my greatest joy is seeing them reclaim their power — choosing self-care without guilt and seeing midlife not as an end, but as a beginning.
I believe in freedom, happiness, kindness, and strength — and I carry these values into everything I do. My practice isn’t just about yoga; it’s about nurturing a hopeful, empowered future for women navigating midlife and beyond
